Dehumidifier on the principle of adsorption: The moist air is being passed through a rotor filled with Silica gel.
The water vapour in this process air flow is absorbed by the drying agent in the process sector of the continuously rotating rotor so that dry air leaves the rotor. The moist Silica gel is being dryed simultaneously by a second (regeneration) air flow through the so-called purging sector of the rotor. This air flow is heated up to the necessary temperature by a built-in heater and absorbs the moisture held by the Silica gel as it flows through the regeneration sector. This moist "waste air" requires an exhaust to the outside. The adsorption technique is economically superior to the condensation technique at temperatures below 10°C or at low air humidity.
