Constant humidity in display cabinets

The display cabinet and the miniClima Constant Humidity Equipment form, together with the connecting hoses, a tight air recirculation system. A miniature humidity sensor measures the relative humidity in the display cabinet and compares it to the set value. Corresponding to the difference the display case will be humidified or dehumidified.

The devices provide the user with the possibility to adapt the mode of operation: The device can also produce a slight overpressure inside the case by adding a small amount of surrounding air to the system air. The overpressure helps to keep your showcase free of dust.

Every model from series EBC 10 / 11 / 12 has the potential of becoming both a full functional master unit or a slave unit - as required. The decision for one of the two hierarchic states is selected automatically dependant upon the type of cable connected to the EBC. If it is the cable from the RH/T sensor, then the EBC becomes a master controller. If it is the control line coming from another EBC then the unit works as a slave.

Dehumidification
Excess humidity is condensed on a Peltier-cooled surface. The condensed liquid is collected and pumped off from the air circulation system. Longer dehumification periods are interrupted regularly by a short thawing period.

Humidification
Condensed/distilled water is pumped from the water supply bottle and vaporized into the air circulation system. Only distilled water should be used for refilling the water supply.
The modes of operation "humidification" and "de-humidification" are indicated on the controller by red light spots. The spots extinguish as soon as the set value inside the case is reached.

Datalogger
An all new miniClima datalogger hardware is now part of the control system built into the EBC and is provided with every unit. The new software ("miniClima EBC Tool") is supplied free of charge with each order, and allows up to 15,000 values to be stored and read out. The user can check for alarms that occurred or settings that have been changed. He can also use them to have "live" access to the currently present values. The data logger automatically logs every 30 min - you don't need to start it for this.

Alarm
Should the set value not be reached within 2, 6, 12, or 24 hours of operation (to be chosen on order) an alarm goes off.
In addition to the alarm-LEDs on the housing, every device is equipped with a composite error alarm (activated along with any specific alarm), that switches both his own LED and a potential-free change-over contact, thus providing the user with the possibility to install an external alarming device, so as to ensure to be notified in time, when a non-routine intervention by the user is needed. The reset button quits the external alarm.

Water level alarm for the high mark of the bottle
By default any EBC is equipped with one water level sensor for the high mark of the bottle. Optional a Water level alarm for the low mark of the bottle is available.

2.0l Bottle/Positioning of the bottle
All devices of the current series can now be ordered to be equipped with an extra large water bottle instead of the standard 500 ml bottle. The bottle can be fixed on the side as well as in the front of the main device to save space.
The EBC 12 is equipped with a 2.0l bottle. Optionally it can be replaced by a 0.5l bottle.

Display
The display shows the actual RH-value inside the showcase. Set value can be shown by pushing a button.

Backside: hose coupling, mains connection, Front: water bottle; operation switch; programmable humidity controller; LEDs (power & alarms); reset button; cage clamps for sensor cable, trip line cable and external alarm; datalogger interface (if installed).

Service
After 15 - 20 000 working hours the instrument should be sent back to factory for general service (every 2 years of continuous use).
