2.0l Bottle

The 2.0l Bottle is available as an optional feature (extra charge) for all current types of devices. It replaces the standard bottle (0.5l).

In most cases the standard bottle will perfectly suit the needs, as the device will have balanced the humidity within the case soon, and the system can be handled easily with the 0.5l bottle. There are of course circumstances, where it can be expected that the device will have to process an increased amount of humidity over a longer period of time and in one direction only, for instance when the goods presented in the case either only absorb or only emit high quantities of humidity.

The option for the large bottle is consequently recommended for such special circumstances only. Still, no matter which bottle is actually used, its water level has to be checked on a regular basis to ensure a continued humidity control.

Air Circulation Filters

The Air Distribution Filter "FLT" is available for all current (and accordingly adapted) types of devices as an optional feature (extra charge).

The FLT is added to the air circulation system with hose connectors, as it is done with the EBC and the showcase. The filter capsules are by default filled with dust filter pads and activated carbon (succession: filter pad F3 > activated carbon > filter pad F5), but can also be equipped differently on request.

The filter and its EBC have to be regarded as a sort of technical package. The EBC needs to be equipped with a stronger air circulation fan to be able to overcome the additional air resistance caused by the filter. Therefore no standard EBC should be used with an FLT attached to it, and likewise no FLT-adapted EBC should be used without either an FLT or any otherwise caused higher air resistance in the circulation system. The result of the latter would be a too fast air movement, possibly troubling the displayed artefacts in the showcase and/or disturbing the de-humidification capacity of the EBC.

Air Distribution Boxes

The air-distribution-boxes are optional accessories (extra charge) thought for use with miniClima main devices (EBC 10 or 11). They offer the possibility to connect one single EBC unit to up to six showcases. Two sizes of boxes are available: a smaller box for the Constant Humidity Device EBC 10 and a bigger one for EBC 11. Two same-sized boxes are necessary for each device (air inlet/air outlet).

Additionally delivered items: two boxes (one for the air inlet, one for the air outlet), adequate hosepipes and screw connections.

Requirements & Important Notes

The air-distribution-boxes can be used at circumstances where a sufficiently equal airflow will be given for all showcases. Essential requirements for this to reach are:

I) that all showcases are of virtually equal sizes and shapes, made of the same materials, and are of an equal air- and steam-tightness.
II) that all showcases are exposed to the same ambient conditions (located in the same room).
III) that it is planned that all cases connected to the one device shall be brought to the same humidity level.

All showcases will be controlled by one device alone, thus there is no possibility to set different r.H.-levels for the different cases. Furthermore the temperature/humidity-sensor of the miniClima device will have to be placed in just one of the several showcases. The data provided by this sensor will then be used as a reference for all cases, hence the above-mentioned requirements.

The maximum air volume (=the sum of all cases connected to the device) to be processed by the one device will be reduced as compared to the capacity of the device when it is used for one showcase alone. The reduction depends mainly on the number of showcases connected to the device and on the overall length of the used hoses.

When using the boxes the usually necessary diameter of the boreholes in the showcase walls changes as follows (as compared to the direct connection between device and case): EBC 10: 20 mm instead of 25 mm; EBC 11: 25 mm instead of 32 mm. Due to the necessity of equal lengths for some of the hosepipes it has to be calculated with an increased need of space to be able to house the hoses.

Detached Operating Unit

Every standard EBC is built with an integrated operating unit for entering the RH set-value and other parameters as well as for displaying the current states. Alternatively, this integrated user interface can be replaced by a detached one.

For this, the front panel of the correspondingly built EBC features a 25-pin D-SUB connector instead of the ususal display and buttons. The detached operating unit can be plugged onto this connector with a cable of up to 2 m.

The detached operating unit is built with the same LCD display and the same input buttons as the integrated operating unit of a standard EBC. The two delivered assembly brackets are designed in a way, so that the operating unit can be mounted either plane with its front or its back side.
